This is actually far from what I had in mind. 내가 생각했던 것과는 많이 다르다.

 

There's no point in/of 둘 다 가능하지만 in을 더 많이 쓴다.

There's no point in shopping. 쇼핑하는 의미가 없어.

There's no point in getting angry. 화를 내 봐야 아무 의미 없어.

What she means is that there's no point in waiting here. 그녀의 말은 여기서 기다려봐야 아무 소용 없다는 거야.

 

I still didn't get that. vs. catch that. 전자는 이해를 여전히 못 한 것, 후자는 못 들어서 이해를 못 한 것

 

I think it's like a cold, really really bad cold : 그냥 감기뿐만 아니라 몸살 감기에도 사용

My body aches. 몸살 기운 있을 때 쓰는 말

I'm under the weather : 컨디션이 안 좋다.

I think I'm coming down with a flu. 감기 기운이 오려고 해.

 

It's far from what I pictured. 약간 내가 그렸던, 상상했던 것과는 다를 때

 

Somthing suits you. = Looks good on you.(옷 일때)

Those jeans suit you so well! It's like it's made for you. 완전 언니꺼다~

 

- This coat complements you nicely. 너를 잘 보완해준다.

- This coat fits you perfectly. 사이즈가 잘 맞을 때나 어울리는 맥락에 사용

- This coat is flattering on you. 

- This coat is right up your alley 완전 네 취향이다.

반면에 잘 안어울릴 때는

It doesn't look good. It doesn't suit you

 

Sold! 완전 설득됨

- Okay, I'm sold.

Ex.
A: So, what do you think? Do you think it's worth it?

B: Nope, I'm not sold. It looks like a rip-off. 아니요, 바가지 같아요. (엄청 비싼데 생각외로 효과가 없거나 성능이 안 좋은 것)

 

So... what do you think? (와르유) 어때?

To be honest, this is actually quite far from what I had in mind. 솔직히 말하면 제가 예상했던 것과는 많이 달라요.

I think it suits you well! And it's perfect for any occasion.(오케이즌) 너한테 딱인데 왜, 이건 어디서나 잘 어울려.

I'm just not sold on the color. Do you have any other options? 색깔이 안 땡겨. 다른 건 없나요?

hit on 작업 걸다, 대쉬하다. (되게 캐주얼한 표현) <-> I'm gonna tell her how I feel. 좀 진지하게 마음을 표현하려고 할 때

neat freak : 깔끔 떠는 사람

 

make yourself clear : to be fully understood (보통 권력이 있는 사람들이 많이 쓴다. Ex. 엄마, 직장 상사, 선배, 선임...)

Ex. I said no more whining.(와이닝) 더 이상 징징거리지 말라고 했지.

Do I make myself clear? 내 말 알아듣겠어? 나 분명히 표현한 것 같은데

 

Tough day? 힘들었어? 오늘 힘들었니?

pale 창백한(페일)

She's pale as a ghost. 그녀는 유령 수준으로 창백해.

 

reach out = contact

A: Can you reach out to Chelsea?

B: I already tried, but she seems to be out of town. 벌써 해봤지만 어디 간 것 같아.(집에 없는 것 같아.)

 

Dinner tonight. Just me and you. What do you say? 어때?
I'm not interested. I thought I made myself very clear about this. 미안하지만 관심없어. 내가 분명히 얘기했던 것 같은데.
I just don't think you gave it a fair shot. 아니 그냥 나한테 공평하게 기회를 안 준것 같아.
I did and there's no changing my mind. Don't reach out to me ever again. 했어. 그리고 생각 바뀔 마음 없어. 다시는 나한테 연락하지 마.

 

어울리지 않은

- not a good color on you. 안 어울리는 색, 너의 행동, 컨셉이 너한테 맞지 않아. (지적하는 것)

Ex. Chelsea, it's not a good color on you. 첼시야 너 지금 방금 되게 보기 안 좋았어.

- not your cup of tea 네 취향이 아니다, 너한테 안 어울려.

- doesn't suit/ flatter you 안 어울림 (flatter -> 칭찬)

- isn't your best look 최고의 룩은 아닌 것 같아. (이건 조금 기분 나쁠 수 있음)

 

어울림

- looking sharp 오우.. 오늘 좀 까리 한데

- dress to impress 누구하네 잘 보이냐 Ex. Who are you trying to impress?, I'm dressing to impress. 나 오늘 누구한테 잘 보이려고 잘 입었어.

- all dolled up 인형처럼 엄청 꾸민 것 Ex. Where are you going? Why are you all dolled up? 오늘 어디 가? 왤케 꾸몄어?

- looking like a million bucks 10점 만점의 10

- dashing 너무 근사한, 예쁜, 잘생긴 (보통 여자한테 많이 씀)

- stunning dashing과 비슷

- fine <- 약간 이성적인 호감이 있을 때 많이 쓰인다. Ex. She is fine~ 오~ 

- smokin <- 이성적 호감 Ex. She is smokin hot. 뜨거워 뜨거워~ (너무 예쁘다는 뜻)

- on point 착장 얘기할 때) 완벽하다.

- breathtaking = beautiful 주로 여성분한테 많이 쓰임, 숨이 막히는

- fire 불타오른다. Ex. Oh, He's looking fire.
